Poly-acrylonitrile (PAN):
Properties:
1. It exhibit very good mechanical properties.
2. It is soluble in di-methyl formamide, di-ethyl sulphonide.
3. It is colorless liquid with boiling point 77°c.
4. It has a remarkable resistance to heat upto around 220°c.
5. On heating it turns yellow & red, due to linking in nitrile groups.
